It will rain again soon... won't it?

I live near Bristol. Can't remember the last time we had significant rain. Is there any rain at all likely to occur in the next week or so? I'm actually getting worried about how severe and longlasting this drought will be.

Hampshire here and nothing. It’s trying to drizzle but not really coming to anything. Looking at the rainfall radar it seems to be drifting down from the NE and petering out by the time it’s reaching the south. Lawn is yellow, it’s tinder dry outside. No rain on my forecast for the next week.

North Herts here, we haven't had decent consistent rain since March tbh. Yes it's rained occasionally but nothing more than moistening the surface, nothing has penetrated. Water butt has been empty for months. I don't remember a year like it in twenty years.

Chilterns here, ditto. I think a 10 minute heavy shower is the most we've had since April. My garden has never been so dry. It's now a toss up between cost of water and cost of new plants... local ponds bone dry.

I'm harvesting water in the kitchen sink daily - leave the bowl in and catch everything, rinsing cups, washing hands, anything. When it's full it gets out in the watering can outside, nets me about 7-10lt a day, enough to do my containers. The lawn is dead as a door nail though!

Yeah, I've become really conscious of the need to be careful with water too. STILL no significant rain in the forecast.

April!! Bloody hell, I surprised there's anything living left in your garden.

@Bookridden I don’t want to be too dramatic here, but if I was living down south of UK I would be making plans to move up north in the next couple of years. It’s not going to get much better very soon, the extreme temperatures, the droughts, the wild fires these are all happening faster than projected.
When I say north, I sort of mean as far north as you can get, and make sure you are a good bit above sea level wherever you land.

Not had rain for ages in SE London.

It is so hard to sleep in this weather, moving downstairs for next few nights.

I'm finding that every bit of noise travels, which meant last night I slept far worse, heat not helping at all!

South west - desperate for rain!!! Literally scanning the forecast. Dry as a bone here.

Festoonlights · 09/08/2022 10:10

Can’t complain though as I love the wall to walk sunshine every day. This summer has been one of the best 😎

East Midlands here and no rain really for months. At least since May.

Fortunately the water company reservoirs remain pretty full so no sign of water shortages but the garden could really benefit from some natural rainwater.

Every time the weather forecast predicts rain, the chances vanish as we get closer to the time.

Yesterday they were reporting stroms for tonight but these twoo have vanished off the forecast.

South East here, can't remember the last time we had rain, must be months now. Some of my beautiful shrubs have actually been burnt in the last few days, I doubt they'll come back to life.
