I’m so happy right now. It’s cold and raining, and my garden is going to love it .

Here too. We have actual puddles!
DH got the car out to rain all the dust off it, and my poor thirsty garden is all green again.

You lucky, lucky things. Envy

BlackeyedSusan · 24/07/2022 15:55

The lawn is getting a green tinge back. We have had a reasonable amount of rain.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 24/07/2022 16:01

Where are you all?

InMySpareTime · 24/07/2022 16:14

Manchester.
Rain is our thing!

Me too but then I do live in Wales! So pleased not to have to water the garden today.

Squidthing · 24/07/2022 16:38

In London, it's hot and dry and feels like it hasn't rained for an eternity. There was a couple of light showers immediately after the heatwave but it didn't touch the sides.

SingingSands · 24/07/2022 16:45

Getting a good soaking in West Yorkshire today. My garden and the allotments are singing with gratitude!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/07/2022 16:49

No rain forecast in London for days and days. Everything looks so parched! Lots of trees shedding their leaves, presumably as a result of stress. Sad The water level in our pond has dropped a lot. Topped it up from the water butt, but it needs RAIN! Send it down south!

We’re in East Anglia and it’s 30 degrees and baking. The grass is burnt away. Curtains and windows are shut and fans are blasting away. I cannot tell you how much I envy you the rain.

God, that feels like a distant memory now.

Love this! 😊😊😊

BigWoollyJumpers · 24/07/2022 17:06

Like sitting out in a hair dryer here, until a local heath caught fire (third time this week) and sent all the smoke our way. Now sitting inside with all the windows closed. It is soooooo dry, and now very windy, terrible conditions for fires.

East Anglia here too. It never rains here.

Aconitum · 24/07/2022 17:14

I have had enough rain now. Our conservatory roof is leaking and the roofer seems to disappeared from planet earth.

cptartapp · 24/07/2022 17:15

Throwing it down in Lancashire. Real proper heavy rain.p for a couple of hours now.
It smells wonderful outside.

flashpaper · 24/07/2022 17:15

I'm so glad. I wouldn't usually be happy for the rain but I caught covid on the hottest day of the year and I was a complete state. It was baking hot and I was feverish. DP thought I'd gone mad. I'm so glad it's cooled down.

Cornettoninja · 24/07/2022 17:17

I’m incredibly envious, we keep getting forecasts of short showers that fail to ever materialised.

the only fan of all the dried out dead grass is my cat who now treats the garden like a full body scratching post.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/07/2022 17:25

I was OK during the insanely hot days last week (Mon/Tues) but that was because I was expecting a magnificent thunderstorm on Tuesday night or Wednesday. Deeply disappointed. I believe there was some thunder in Kent at one point, but all we have is endless blue skies and bright sunshine. <shakes fist at the Met Office>

ShowOfHands · 24/07/2022 17:27

I'm in Norfolk and we haven't had rain for weeks and nothing forecast in the two weeks I can look ahead.

The next village along has had massive fires due to how dry it is with many people losing their homes. As I type, there are more field fires raging.

We so desperately need some rain.

Sallycinnamum · 24/07/2022 17:32

We haven't had any rain in a month here just outside London.

I would love a huge downpour but there's nothing forecast for weeks.

It's actually quite concerning just how dry it is. Even the trees are starting to look autumnal.

I am so jealous of your rain!

Shony · 24/07/2022 17:37

Biblical rain in Glasgow 😁

gingercat02 · 24/07/2022 17:41

Just started on NE coast. I've just moved all my pots out from the walls where they were sheltering from the heat earlier in the week

tapdancingmum · 24/07/2022 20:20

Just started raining in Bucks (just after I had watered all the pots) but at least the grass will get a soaking. Not sure how long it's going on for but it's sounding quite nice.
