Up to 250mm of rain expected today into tomorrow. This will lead to severe and dangerous flooding. Take heed if you are in the area.

How is everyone? Flooding on the roads here is gone today. Only a restaurant without flood defence and some holiday let’s were flooded. All shops open. The flood defences did their work!

Same here - I suspect we may not be far from each other. I went into our nearest town today, which has suffered very badly in previous floods and all was well. Biggest drama for us is that DS's sports fixtures are off for the weekend as the pitch is flooded. Obviously some people have fared badly and I'm very sorry for them but it does seem that measures put in place from previous times have largely beem effective and thimgs are not as bad as they could have been.

It didn’t get as bad as it has in the past but still early to be this flooded. Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite joined up apparently.

Few bridges closed /damaged. It’s all moved a bit further north now to take on Dumfries and Galloway.

@MrsAvocet

Yes, I think we are close by! The news reports last night made it seem worse than it actually is though I think
