Sunrise question

Sorry if this seems a bit dim but dc want to watch the sunrise, the weather app says sunrise is 5.37am on the day we’ve chosen, but does that mean it starts rising at that time or it will have risen by that point?

It will be light before that time. I would plan to be awake by 4.30 at this time of year to catch the full sunrise.
