Sorry that I've been somewhat awol. I'm not spending so much time here because my work is so screen based, I need a break from screens during down time.

Anyway,
After a number of funnel clouds yesterday in places across the uk including north Yorkshire and Bristol, we have decent convection and storms kicking off again today.

Risks are isolated tornadoes, torrential rain and possibly damaging hail.
Others will see entirely nothing.

Latest lightning image.

If we have any damage reports or photos of storms and associated features from the last few days I'd love to see them.

Met office have storm and heavy rain warnings for today and tomorrow.

One of the torrential downpours just hit here - bailing out moss from our downpipe soakaway required.

It's so muggy here in London I wish it would rain!

WingBingo · 17/06/2020 16:20

Ooh it’s moving up from the south west. Hot sun here in Exeter. I shall be keeping an eye out as I have washing on the line!

peppapigisscottish · 17/06/2020 16:22

Huge storm right overhead us in Gloucestershire, I videod it from our windows. The thunder was making all our windows rattle.

blueskys72 · 17/06/2020 16:26

We've got rumble thunder and rain but I haven't seen any lightning ☹️

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/06/2020 17:12

I'm very jealous of those who have storms Grin

Clutterbugsmum · 17/06/2020 17:35

We had some heavy rain, thunder at lunchtime today. Hopefully some more tonight.

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 17/06/2020 17:47

We had a frightful storm in Southern Alberta, Canada over the weekend. Hailstones the size of tennis balls - smashing windows, damaging houses and cars and ruining crops.

ExpletiveDelighted · 17/06/2020 17:49

Storm and heavy downpour here from about 4 till 5 (Hants/Surrey border). Brightening up now.

beenrumbled · 17/06/2020 17:52

We had 2 spectacular storms yesterday, with torrential ran, local flooding - nothing today (yet)

summerrose11 · 17/06/2020 18:00

I always have a quick look on www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en
To see where the lightning is. None where I live atm

poppym12 · 17/06/2020 18:11

Storms for 2 days. Migraine kept me awake most of last night so I'm shattered.

BatSegundo · 17/06/2020 18:12

Excellent storm in Bristol over the last hour. Has proper cheered me up from lockdown monotony. Grin

CockCarousel · 17/06/2020 18:18

poppym12 was your migraine caused by the storm/low pressure? It used to affect me like that, not so much anymore.

My backyard got completely flooded - the drain and gutter pipe got blocked with leaves and I got totally soaked through unblocking them. The rain was being tipped out of the sky!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/06/2020 18:20

Woah Moose.
Sorry to hear that Poppy that's miserable.

I just have left over clag :( Maybe later!

That is a very unhappy cloud Smile. Apparently we have to wait until 11.00 am for our storms tomorrow (I.W)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/06/2020 19:27

That is one very impressive shelf cloud!!!

poppym12 · 17/06/2020 20:30

Yes @CockCarousel. Whenever there's a change in air pressure it seems to trigger a migraine. No idea why.

Fortunately it's much clearer here now and the migraine has eased a lot.

jalopy · 17/06/2020 21:16

Wowsers.
