sun protection

does anybody know any info on the safety of using breathable, mesh UV ray protective sun shades on buggy's?

I know it's not safe to use muslins and blankets as they can overheat but what about ones that are breathable and they can see through but protect from UV and provide shade? Can't seem to find any unbiased things on it that aren't written by a company selling them!

My ten month old pulls his sunglasses off and gets really irritated when the sun is in his eyes (understandably).. I would take him in a carrier but I am now seven months pregnant so it's no longer an option so I have to find a safe method of sun protection that works and that seemed like the best option

I had a 'google' about this and there doesn't seem to be any information about the safety of covers. This one seems to have mostly good reviews and says it has an 'air-permeable membrane.' There seem to be loads on Amazon for pushchairs of all shapes and sizes!

I had a quick look at the reviews for snooze shade - which is supposed to do everything you want - and some people even complain that that makes a baby overheat.
Personally, I would save your money and use a Muslin (like I did) or other light piece of cotton. Just make sure you don't stay out for too long in threat of the day - as they will overheat no matter what you use.

I had a Summer (brand) sun shade.
Cost about 12 quid. Ties to buggy sides and goes over the hood but sticks out much further than the hood itself giving lots of shade. Full uv protection.
