OYBBK - Summer Fair Weather help

Oh You Bad Bad Kitten - your expertise is required.

It's our summer fair on Saturday (Wolverhampton area) 11-4. I have been religiously checking the weather forecast every 20 minutes day.

It's been changeable but both Met Office and Accuweather have been pretty consistent in saying it's going to rain.

However, Accuweather has now changed to mainly sunny with less than 20% chance of showers. Met office is still saying 50-80% chance of showers up until lunch followed by 35% in the afternoon.

Both very different forecasts.

I need to make a decision by Friday lunchtime and I know it's still early, but what do you think?

Thank you x

I think the metoffice have it about right. I'm in Leicester and have the same sort of forecast for rain in the morning, gradually easing and it drying out in the afternoon.
(Hope you don't mind me answering ~ hopefully OYBBK can add a bit more detail when she's about!)

Can I ask a similar question please. Our school fete is tomorrow (Fri) from 5pm in the East Midlands. The Met office forecast suggests torrential rain, Netweather has light showers, MetPro no rain until 7ish. Confused

Thank you Flowers

Mrs John Deere ~ think your fete might have showers at the start but towards the evening, it goes downhill and gets 'orribly wet.

Sorry, trying to squeeze too much into life atm! Let me have a look for you :)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/07/2014 08:55

Gloria is right for Wolverhampton. Wet morning but becoming drier through the afternoon. If it were me, I'd go for it but if you do please don't hate me if you all drown!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/07/2014 08:57

MrsJD, rain mid evening (around 6ish) and it does look heavy I'm afraid.

MrsJohnDeere · 04/07/2014 11:51

Thank you OYBBK.

We've decided cancel all the outdoor things and do what we can inside. Sad

Will be gutted now if it doesn't rain.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/07/2014 13:07

:( MrsJD.
It's not often I hope for rain for someone!

MrsJohnDeere · 04/07/2014 21:21

OYBBK you were spot on as always!

Beautiful sunshine at 4pm but torrential rain by 6 which has continued ever since.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/07/2014 22:20

I'm kind of relieved!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/07/2014 08:26

Bloominnora looks like the bulk of the rain has gone through :) maybe some showers but not bad.

BloominNora · 06/07/2014 12:25

Thank you OYBBK. It was still a bit damp when I went down to school at 7:45 to set up but by 8:30 it had stopped and we ended up with a glorious, hot, sunny day. I even got sunburned. I didn't put any lotion on as the forecast said no rain but overcast. Guess the met office got that one wrong Grin

Yay!!!!
Met office did get it rather wrong, we were rather damp all afternoon down here rather than the suggested showers.
