issued by the metoffice for heavy thundery rain.
Had a feeling this might happen, a thundery breakdown after all the nice weather.

Oo I was just coming on to post about the possibility of thunder tomorrow. I am looking forward to being able to keep the windows shut to keep the flies out.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/06/2014 20:52

Thanks Gloria, been a busy few days.

GloriaSmud · 26/06/2014 22:39
Smile It's just started raining here (Leicester.) Tomorrow looks like it's going to be quite a wet day

Just a reminder of the lightning websites here and here in case anything of a thundery nature occurs!

Storms forecast here for tomorrow. Big armed forces day celebration here on Saturday, it looks like it'll be a wash out. Such a shame as we've been looking forward to it.

DH is prepared to be dealing with flooding as the drains won't be able to cope, thankfully its not spring tides at the moment...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2014 07:37

I think it's going to be a case of if you catch a storm it could be quite a good one. If you don't you'll wonder what the fuss is about with showers instead.

I think the primary risk area for decent thunderstorms is along the Thames corridor and perhaps southern east Anglia through Bedfordshire.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/06/2014 11:25

had a very heavy showerlocalised flooding of roads as strom drains could nt cope.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/06/2014 12:48

oh my gosh the thunderstorms have kicked off. near me.

Sparklingbrook · 27/06/2014 12:58

Where are you Susan? it's just gone really dark and starting tipping it down here in Worcestershire.

BuzzardBird · 27/06/2014 12:59

Should I get the washing in Sparkling? Wink

Sparklingbrook · 27/06/2014 13:01

Definitely BB. Grin It's fairly torrential now.

GloriaSmud · 27/06/2014 13:39

Dark, overcast and humid here (Leicester)
Raintoday is showing a (possibly thundery) band of rain coming up from the south. Think it isn't going to be too long before that arrives!

OP posts:
BlackeyedSusan · 27/06/2014 14:53

w mids sparkling... they went past without coming here. the main rain band has gone through already too, which is good as it si school run time. not so good for derbys, leics nottm though.

GloriaSmud · 27/06/2014 15:55

It started raining just after I posted so the rain band had been and gone in time for the school run. But it's 'orribly humid so think we could be in for some more thundery showers once the heat's built up again.

SE,

Had thunderless rainfall this morning but sunny all afternoon and rather hot/humid.

Sparklingbrook · 27/06/2014 17:55

We have just had more monsoon rain. A huge clap of thunder about 5 minutes ago but nothing since.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2014 17:59

It's been a lovely warm sunn day here today. The randomness of how storms initiate can be quite perplexing at times!

digerd · 28/06/2014 06:48

SE

Just back from dog walk and is already very warm/sunny.

RainbowsStars · 28/06/2014 08:28

We had an absolute massive storm last night, I've never heard thunder so loud or for so long before.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/06/2014 09:37

A bit bleary eyed this morning then rainbow stars? Grin

More storms are possible today but I'm not going to even hazard a guess at where they may initiate! Yesterday although we were in the warning area for rain we didn't have a single drop. It was a lovely day!

RainbowsStars · 28/06/2014 11:13

Thankfully it ended before bedtime! It's just started again though, not so much thunder yet but it's very black.

BlackeyedSusan · 28/06/2014 14:09

it is dull here. rain overnight... but I have got the windows shut so I do nothave to do the fly flap.
