Unbalanced weather forecasting :(

I live in the NW on a small rock in the sea & it drives me nuts when London & the SE has major news alerts for the tiniest things. We have boats cancelled (yep M&S & tescos will be empty tomorrow morning) & Force 9+ gusts & no one gives a shit. I'm not asking for help here, we are used to it. News tends to report unusual situations rather than things that happen regularly.
