A thread not for 'will it be stormy here' questions which can go in here but for specific travel updates.

To get the ball rolling:

Greater Anglia trains are allowing Monday ticket holders to travel tomorrow.

Nothing on there yet, but here's a link for First Buses in Hampshire. I doubt there'll be much warning on the site if they do stop services, usually hits twitter first, but there's no one manning their social media until 9am on Monday.

5madthings · 26/10/2013 17:24

i have bookmarked the greater anglia page as on monday i am planning to go from.norwich to lowestoft and then on to kessingland. hoping the trains will be running ok but will check.in the morning before we go to station.

Lots of info for people travelling in Dorset at the dorsetforyou website.

wearingpurple · 26/10/2013 17:29

One specific item from that site - there will be no ferry crossings to the Channel Islands from Poole or Weymouth, but extra crossings on Tue/Wed for Sun/Mon ticket holders.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 26/10/2013 17:34

I just posted this on your original thread, Kitten Smile

Due to fly into Manchester very late on Sunday night, from Spain. Forecast is calm but wet from midnight-3am, someone has suggested the wind may blow us home early - what chance of that, Kitten?

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 26/10/2013 17:42

Sorry, didn't notice your Halloween name Blush

How nice to be so immediately known though! Grin

OhYouWickedWickedWitch · 26/10/2013 17:48

I'm still very much kitten! As soon as the first storm thread is full I'm name changing but dont want to confuse things part way!

I think the jet stream could be a help to you if aTC allow routing that way. Its in a nice position!

Anyone in the Isle of Man, it looks like the Manannan crossings to & from the mainland will be cancelled tomorrow, but the Ben is still scheduled to run. Mind you, I wouldn't fancy that 2am crossing on Sunday night/Monday morning!

HellMouthCusty · 26/10/2013 17:55

Hi, I'm due to travel from Lincolnshire down to Bury in Suffolk on Monday - by car, with 2 small children. Is this madness? Would be leaving in the morning.

justaweeone · 26/10/2013 18:55

We are driving from a Norfolk to SW Scotland on Monday
Are we mad?

GloriaSmud · 26/10/2013 19:44

As part of the East Midlands posse (group), I'm adding Birmingham and East Midlands airports, not least because my brother is due to fly into EMA around 1am Monday morning.

OhYouWickedWickedWitch · 26/10/2013 19:49

Tis a little on the mad side TIBHW.

Justaweeone - you are heading away from the storm. If you go set off first thing.

Just remembered, MIL is due to fly into Stansted from Spain on Monday! Could be interesting...

dododoing · 26/10/2013 21:02

we're supposed to be travelling from Berkshire to Pembrokeshire on Monday - is that going to be okay, do you think? we can leave it until the afternoon.

OhYouWickedWickedWitch · 26/10/2013 21:04

flight radar alci posted this on the other thread, so we can watch what it does to flights.

dodo. I would leave it to the afternoon and then you can see what sort of disruption has been caused.

I live in south London and plan not to go into work on Monday (central London) as don't want to get trapped when I can't get home due to trees on the line or something. Is that over cautious?

29chapel · 26/10/2013 21:24

Hello OYWWW i'm sorry to ask you yet another question! We are supposedly travelling to Luton Airport (from Essex) at 5am monday morning for a 9am flight to Egypt - any ideas?

ItsOkayItsJustMyDeathFucker · 26/10/2013 21:26

That site is amazing OYBBK! I am going to bookmark it as have a friend flying back from Rome on Monday or not. Thank you!

mumteedum · 26/10/2013 21:41

OYWWW thanks for the threads. I've missed lots of info so was checking if was just media hype. Glad saw yr thread!

I'm due to drive durham to Worcestershire Monday, leaving 10am. Small child and on my own. Is this bad idea? Can do it tues but Dh thinks it's hype and I'm fine to do it.
