Bumping again as was in wrong section. Oops!

I'm wondering about Southampton next weekend, so will watch with interest. Do you have something nice planned Fatty? (that sounds so disrespectful, sorry!)

FattyMcChubster · 13/07/2013 10:32

Haha! I think it's funny only place I would do, I'd not be happy in rl
Yes we've lots planned and fingers crossed a big family occasion that week so would love to know roughly what it'll be like.
Plus I don't want to have to take loads of 'incase' things, you know?

Looking hot and sunny right through to the 27th according to GFS with high pressure firmly in place. Maybe not as hot as the high pressure moves about a bit. Storms may crop up at relatively short notice.

FattyMcChubster · 13/07/2013 19:23

Kitten! There you are!
Thank you. Sounds daft but trying to decide which pushchair to take. Big one leaves no space in car but fab fab sun shade. Smaller one loads easier to pack but barely any cover and no sun brolly!

Totally aware this is a first world problem Wink

Can I butt in and ask about the weather in Southwold from the 22nd?

A shameless hijack but I was going to ask you on my own thread.

FattyMcChubster · 13/07/2013 20:14

You can but in mrs Howard if you tell me which buggy you'd take? Grin

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/07/2013 20:51

:) I was out enjoying the sunshine!

I'd plan on taking the big pushchair or buy a small one with a sunshade Grin

Southwold is also looking like it will be hot!

Obv things may change, but usually high pressures are easier to forecast, although storms are not so.

Jux · 13/07/2013 21:13

Could you tell what the next few weeks will be like Exeter-way?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/07/2013 22:45

Looking pretty fine this week , maybe a cool down the following week, but too early to say for sure. Barring any storms/convective rain looking dry.

FattyMcChubster · 13/07/2013 22:56

Ooh you are good kitten. Thank you! Fancy a Wine?

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/07/2013 23:00

Oh absolutely!

AngryFeet · 13/07/2013 23:04

Does that mean bad weather is coming after 27th or you cant forecast that far in advance. Am camping from 27th and praying for sunshine!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/07/2013 23:11

It's almost as far as GFS goes! Normally I only forecast about 4 days ahead (or less Ivor little low pressures) but can give a possible heads up for about a week in advance. Settled high pressures take much more shifting so I feel more confident up to a week in advance with an indication of what may happen in 10 days.
However I'm quite often entirely wrong anyway Grin

MrsHowardRoark · 14/07/2013 09:10

Thank you!
I've been looking forward to this holiday for so long that now I'm getting nervous that we'll be spending a week sat looking at the rain.

Jux · 14/07/2013 11:00

Thank you OYBBK. Thanks

GwendolineMaryLacey · 14/07/2013 11:02

Big pushchair. Sunshade wins:)

Now, bugger Brighton (or was that Bugger Bognor...?) how's it looking over the Atlantic from the 20th onwards? Nice and calm?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/07/2013 18:38

Brighton looking good :)
This evenings GFS does show a cool down from around the 23rd on, but its looking at the ensembles the others aren't really following the trend. Will have a closer look later.

Travelin, heat stroke is more likely to be an issue! Wouldn't count on the break down happening from the 23rd not enough indicators to show that and I think at the moment the balance lies in it more probably remaining hot.

JemimaMuddledUp · 14/07/2013 19:56

So is this generally the case for the whole of the UK, that this dry and sunny weather will continue?

I'm in West Wales and am rather hoping that at least a little bit of the summer hols is like this. They break up on the 23rd.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/07/2013 19:59

There is a little question mark as to what will happen that week Jemima. So I'm starting to hedge my thoughts a little. We might end up with England and Wales holding on much better than Scotland, but I think we need to see over the next few days.
Normally I wouldn't even contemplate forecasting more than a week ahead!

JemimaMuddledUp · 14/07/2013 20:01

Thanks. I'll just cross my fingers then...
