Oklahoma tornado

Just shown on bbc24. Big tornado approaching Oklahoma City :( showed live pictures of the approaching storm taken at the airport.

I just saw that - it looked utterly apocalyptic if I had the scale right in my head.

It's over a mile wide apparently.

Did it not hit a while ago?

Having been involved in tornados outbreaks in the states, there is nothing scarier than that siren.

Makes me feel sick reading that.

According to sky it seems to have hit two schools :( fortunately it seems to have roped out, but its not the end of the outbreak.

How utterly terrifying.
Reminds me again as to why this country (these countries =gb) with it's miserable weather is so good to live in

So many children among the dead and missing.

And they are saying this was more powerful than the Moore tornado in 1999 that recorded the highest winds ever on earth.

I saw a report saying this one could have been worse though - they are still waiting for downtown Oklahoma to be hit, with all it's high rise buildings.

The footage is heartbreaking.
