I was coming on to say the same pipkins, it's awful out there! I can't believe the change from Monday and Tuesday . I thought I was going to take off on the school run and I couldn't close the car door earlier on this morning .

Just checked the wind speed of the 1987 SE storm and the highest was 134 mph during the night. So, me thinks 65 mph is a doddle?

There is a Coastguard station at Mumbles and they record wind speeds/gusts. Info found on Met office website.

well, digerd, in comparison, but that was a rather unusual occurrence and this storm is pretty unusual for this time of year, so I wouldnt really compare the two!
Latest high reading at mumbles is 71mph.

Just popped my head out the front door and no damage there. It rained too in the night .

The ornamental flowering fruit trees looked gorgeous yesterday - council owned at side of pavement, but the wind was blowing the blossom off. . They were a month late this year.

My rhubarb is all flat and broken :(

Not really checked everything at the back yet, just checked to see if life had come back into my pond pump - but no. So been searching for someone to clean out the sludged up pond and put in a new pump. < and rip me off with their prices> sigh.
