You've missed all the snow threads here in the past redwelly? It gets very lively in here then!

Latest run of GFS is coming into line with UKMO, so I'm afraid tomorrow nights storm is looking increasingly likely to be nasty wind wise. Still lots of rain forecast for the next 48 hours.
Am off to bed, will catch up when I can tomorrow. Worth keeping an eye on met office warnings, in case the warnings change. (I think they are under doing the rain for some)

upgraded warnings from the met office. Amber for a lot of the west due to heavy rainfall falling onto already saturated ground.

Take care those travelling in that area today, don't forget to check your local travel conditions.

Shock just saw the met office forecast for wind along the SE coast-78mph!
Going to start a new thread to catch people there.

thread about the severe gales sadly not got time to look closely at specifics, off out for the morning
Lots of keen weather watchers on this thread. Please can you keep the other thread bumped while I'm away. It's properly nasty.

Of course before then there's the whole flooding thing for the West Country and parts of Wales. :(

Thank you OYbbK. It's raining here in south Devon, but it feels very still out. DH is working today so he'll probably be knee-deep in water for most of it. At least the wind isn't looking too bad here thankfully.

OhYoubadbadKitten · 24/11/2012 08:31

Logged in on phone. Dh driving. Very bumpy! Just went past a sand bagged property. Very sobering as they must be dreading this.

If you need someone else to put in a town/postcode for you because you're on a phone, please post.

Very wet on south coast. Back in bumpy car. Roads flooding, pedestrians brains clearly going soggy as they keep hurtling themselves under the car.... Or at least trying to. Dh got cross.

mankyscotslass · 24/11/2012 12:21

Been dry, cold and grey here today.

A non weather day really.

Hope everyone further south and west stays safe tonight.

OhYoubadbadKitten · 24/11/2012 13:21

Thanks for doing that turquoise!

If you are having trouble viewing the met office warnings met office old style warnings work Much better.

I have been out. It is horrible. Sad heavy rain, really dark. was glad to get home.

Startail · 24/11/2012 16:45

South West Midlands is only fit for ducks,

Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2012 17:15

I have been to see the Christmas lights switched on in town. Grim, with a very wet fair and it's pouring down still. Sad

CMOTDibbler · 24/11/2012 17:16

Def Startail - it started raining again at 11, and has just got heavier and heavier. Big diversions for us as both the bridge over the Avon in our town, and the next are closed due to flooding. In several places roads will be flooded if the rivers get much higher.

DH got the 4 week flood risk models today - not looking good Sad

Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2012 17:20

Sad CMOT. They shut the high school early on Thursday to get everyone home. I am now worrying about what next few weeks will bring.

OhYoubadbadKitten · 24/11/2012 18:35

What I'd give to see those CMOT! Very worrying though, I agree. Sparkling, I really feel for those who put so much effort into an event like that and then the poxy weather just ruins it.
