Smile I think Northern Ireland's been added to the warning list since yesterday.

It looks that way :)

trumpton · 03/11/2011 07:18

It's high winds and pounding rain, blowing a hooley here on the Isle of Man.

lostinwales · 03/11/2011 07:22

Does that mean it's going to be worse than yesterday? It was mega windy and 'kill your tv reception' rainy. I like a thunder storm though, hopefully we'll get one of those for a bit of a variation on the last few weeks bogging horrible weather.

trumpton · 03/11/2011 07:35

It was very mild here yesterday. I did the school walk with GS in buggy to take 7 yr old and had to take my coat off on the way home as I was too hot. Was uphill though and I am old !

OhYouBadBadkitten · 03/11/2011 07:44

lostinwales - possibly, if the storms develop over your area then yes, if not then maybe still yes.

trumpton, does the weather on the isle of Man tend to reflect the weather of NI or NW Eng;and, or does it tend to have its on microclimate? (curious)

lostinwales · 03/11/2011 07:54

Hmm, well it's pouring, that seems to be standard at the moment though! The wind is blowing the other way from yesterday afternoon and it's getting to be very windy, I could get into this weather reporting! Nice BBC lady has said possibility of some hail which has cheered the boys up. Grin

OhYouBadBadkitten · 03/11/2011 07:58

Excellent - nothing like reports on the ground Grin

lostinwales · 03/11/2011 08:02
Grin

I need one of those banner things that lights up under my name that says something like 'lostinwales-unless I say otherwise presume it is raining'

trumpton · 03/11/2011 08:05

We tend to have our own microclimate and indeed an even smaller microclimate in the North of the Island.
We have temperate weather with cooler summers and warmer winters than the UK. Although last winter was challenging and we had snow on the beaches. We very rarely get thunderstorms .
But,my word, the winds !! There is a corner near the sea front in Port Erin that has a handrail to hang on to and a friend driving to school yesterday had a calf blown from a raised field land in the road in front of her car.

Many years ago my sister was in a big pram when the wind caught the hood and blew it towards the harbour with my poor Mum hanging onto it and shreiking like a banshee, she was rescued by two burly fishermen.

lostinwales · 03/11/2011 08:18

Shock at the ariborne calf! It's the sort of thing that made Mark Cavendish the man he is! (sorry I have a bit of an obsession with that particular Manx man Blush)

trumpton · 03/11/2011 08:47

He is a lovely man. He probably was trying to get away from the wind when he first started to ride.

GloriaSmud · 03/11/2011 11:09

Is it yet possible to tell if this will still be over us on Bonfire Night?

startail · 03/11/2011 11:19

School fireworks tonight, I'll beAngry if it rains forecast says it should rain this afternoon, but not tonight. It also says dummy
Intervals this morningHmm

startail · 03/11/2011 11:20

Oops Sunny intervalsBlush

GloriaSmud · 03/11/2011 11:49

Grin at 'dummy intervals'

Edith ~ our area's got heavy rain forecast all day for Saturday. Think we might have to move our firework 'do' to Sunday. The metoffice are saying this about the next 3-5 days:

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Northwestern areas seeing some sunshine, but also a risk of overnight fog and frost, given light winds. Generally cloudy, especially across England and Wales, with rain at first, slow easing.

Looks like at the moment, Sunday might be the better day this weekend.

lol lostinwales!!!

trumpton, thats really interesting - thanks :) (will add it too my knowledge) Your poor firend yesterday - that would have given her a fright!
I'm quite optimistic for saturday evening that a lot of areas will by dry even thoug it will be wet earlier for many. Fingers crossed.

EdithWeston · 03/11/2011 13:46

I've just seen the lunchtime BBC forecast. They had rain sitting over a lot of England for Saturday (didn't specify time of day).
