Sunday's weather

looking much quieter today :) and indeed for many through this week. will be cold but not the deep cold we've seen. I'm uncertain about mid week.

After next weekend there are hints of a return to the deep cold so this (when you can get out) will be a good week for resorting and re-evaluating your winter preps.

I'll pause doing these specific daily updates until some more widespread interesting weather arrives.

It's actually really nice to have some respite. We had a massive thaw yesterday, seeing water and hearing trickling water everywhere was so refreshing! I think for some reason the snow dehydrates us...not sure how.

I wonder what the winter holds!

Blue skies here in Sheffield. I supect it is cold out. No further rain or snow now, and yesterday it got to 4/5C so some now has started to melt :)

Our estate roads are still not great because of the compacted snow and ice - going to take some clearing.

Slightly foggy here, and damp!

DH is making a run for it this morning and taking my DM home to Scotland.

She needs to get home and this is the first day it has looked even remotley possible for ages.

I made him take spare snow shovel, a duvet, pillows, biscuits and hotchocolate in a flask!

It was minus 12.5 degrees coming over Beattock and Shap. Extensive freezing fog on the M6.
