So who has what now?

No Snow here, very cold though.

I just put water out for the birds at 08.30. How long before it freezes?

Metcheck showing snow here from 0900. Hmm

Just as well I don't believe it!

OYBBK, how did you cope last night?

aberdeenshire too - had power cut overnight as well - the house got to 11 degrees

Kbear · 28/11/2010 11:22

Where in Kent MrsSaxon - I'm N.Kent/SE London - no snow here. My parents have just headed off to Maidstone though so do I have to get the snow chains ready to go and rescue them??!!

badgermonkey · 28/11/2010 12:41

Bridlington - about three inches outside. Started on Thursday and hasn't really melted and has snowed a little each day. The roads were clear this morning when I walked to Tesco, but the pavements were sheet ice - and then it started snowing again when I got in and dumped another inch or so on top of it! Netweather gives snow everyday for the next week. I work in a school and we never seem to shut for snow so I'm not looking forward to getting into work this week.

VivaLeBeaver · 28/11/2010 12:43

Lincs - we had a little bit of snow on Fri night. Nothing since. So less than an inch in total.

Weather forcasts keep saying "heavy snow" for eastern England. I want some and it ain't here.

winterpetunia · 28/11/2010 12:57

After my post earlier saying that my garden thermometer on the shed in the back garden said that it was -10, one of DH's friends on Facebook who has a weather station in his garden and lives a mile or 2 from us, has confirmed that the temperature in Leicester was -10.2 at 7.30am this morning and yesterday, the highest temperature it got to was +0.7 at 2pm! Shock

mankyscotslass · 28/11/2010 13:05

Not surprised winterpetunia!

The birds water here keeps freezing as soon as I either break the ice or put fresh stuff out.

DH suggested using warm water, but I seem to remember something about warm water freezing faster than cold because of the size of the molecules!

I now need it to not snow at all the rest of the week, because I really can't cope with wet play in the lead up to Xmas....the kids will be manic!

Just spoke to neighbour, is so cold that his car window shattered this morning. He turned the engine on and had all the heaters on, etc, car on drive warming up and the side windown started bulging inwards and then exploded.

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 28/11/2010 13:27

Sunny here in East Northamptonshire, very frosty and icey earlier, not just very cold.

MrsSaxon · 28/11/2010 16:24

I am in east kent Kbear , we have about 3 inches and heavy snow forecast for tomorrow morning.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 28/11/2010 16:29

SummerRain · 28/11/2010 16:38

North-West of Ireland, snow here all day but it's been bright and no more has fallen. It's geting dark now though so it's freezing again and the sky looks like it could be brewing some more... guess the kids will be off school tomorrow then Sad

Glitterknickaz · 28/11/2010 16:55

bugger all here Sad

domesticsluttery · 28/11/2010 19:01

Mid Wales. It hasn't snowed here (apart from the occasional flurry) since Friday, but there is still a good couple of inches on the ground. It is seriously cold, it was -10 when I got up this morning and it didn't get above -4 all day. Not far from here it was recorded as -17 overnight.

MegGriffin · 28/11/2010 21:05

It's trying to snow here in West Sussex, I have just seen a few baby flakes

MegGriffin · 28/11/2010 21:13

Nope, it's stopped, as you were!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/11/2010 21:19

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/11/2010 21:23

g'night!

JingleBelleDameSansMincepie · 28/11/2010 21:24

Huddersfield/Holmfirth here - snowed a bit today/this evening but just a dusting. Very, very cold though and the snow is freezing on the ground. Think ice will be the problem here.

NorthernLurker · 28/11/2010 21:27

York - very cold and a fair bit of snow after heavy falls this afternoon.

IloveBafanaBafana · 28/11/2010 21:29

11 inches outside and it has stopped for the moment, the Thundersnow was the wierdest thing I have ever experienced, woke up at about 4am to the sound of thunder and then lightening that lit up the night sky. All school has been canx tomorrow, unfortunately my work has not seem to have the same attitude!! Will be walking after turfing the kids to their Grandad's.

DanceInTheDark · 28/11/2010 21:33

it was -5 at 8:30 this morning and we had a 'high' of 2.8.

no snow though.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/11/2010 07:09

down to -6.4C this morning. brrrr. Don't really want to go out!!!
