I'm really sad about it.

It's not fair.

Can you please send some, if you have got some to spare. All donations gratefully received, just fling it in general direction of Kent please.

Thankyou.

Absolutely beautiful day, clear, sunny but freezing!

DooinMeCleanin · 26/11/2010 14:11

Slobadan dump the pushchair buy a sledge. It's the only thing that got me through last winter. It looks to be the same this year, dd2 will not walk properly in the snow qnd her buggy will not push in the snow. She was taken to her nans in the sledge today.

I'm Teesside. There's not loads of snow, but theres enough. We're due more tonight apparently Angry

MaudOHara · 26/11/2010 14:13

Sunny freezing but no snow - DC very sad to be going to school

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/11/2010 14:15

ok, just got back in - need to do a quick catch up on the models then will tackle questions and things (very cold here - dry, max 1.4C)

smugmumofboys · 26/11/2010 14:16

No snow here either (Cheshire). It's so disappointing but we are in a bit of a snow deadzone.

HeadFairy · 26/11/2010 14:20

mummytime, is that true about Surrey? Monday Tuesday for us? I don't mind Tuesday but Monday will be a nightmare as there's a tube strike that day so getting to work will be a nightmare!

OYBBK are you the resident weather expert?

Sidge · 26/11/2010 14:21

No snow here (central South Coast) just very sunny and cold.

Mind you I just went home for my lunchbreak and it's a balmy 5 degrees, compared to -3 at 0800.

I wouldn't mind a little snow, just a dusting - enough to play in and enjoy but not enough to be housebound!

ClaireDeLoon · 26/11/2010 14:23

No snow here either, just cold wind :(

Hopefully Bedfordshire will get snow over the weekend and get snowed in for work Monday so I have two valid reasons for working at home - snow and tube strike.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/11/2010 14:27

Headfairy - self appointed and utterly utterly amateur (and finding it quite difficult with this spell - specifics are nigh on impossible - can only talk about generalities and possibilities)

There may be a Big big winter storm on tuesday/wednesday with true blizzards for the south. The met office are now picking up on it - not because it is likely to happen, but if it does happen in the fashion that some models have been suggesting then it would be a truely severe event.

The models are agreeing that the low will occur - it is the position, timing and depth that they are not agreed on.

Jacaqueen · 26/11/2010 14:38

None here in Central Scotland but a lovely sunny freezing day. Feels too cold for snow IYKWIM.

HeadFairy · 26/11/2010 14:52

ooh thanks OYBBK... are we in this blocking pattern we had last winter? Is that why we've got such a prolonged cold spell? Normally it's a couple of days then the weather swings round to the west and gets warmer and wetter. I can't quite understand this one though, because the south west has been hit hard with snow which would imply a westerly bias to the weather but if it's this cold it must be coming from the North/East

ledodgy · 26/11/2010 15:07

We have no snow in Liverpool well I tell a lie it has just started sleeting. OYBK what are our chances of getting proper snow here?

SuePurblybiltByElves · 26/11/2010 15:13

Briefly stopped and back again a million times better Smile. I went out to create a dry area for the hens and my makeshift tent was covered before I got indoors.
Hope it sticks...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/11/2010 15:13

The cold air is from the north/east but there are little troughs forming off from the low, which is where the SW are getting their weather from.
Looking at the latest fax chart - we get a little low developing in the channel too, which will bring in some snow into the parts of the south overnight and into tomorrow.

It does look like a very similar pattern to last year is setting up, earlier too!

DooinMeCleanin · 26/11/2010 15:14

Is Teesside in for more snow then oybk? Please say no Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/11/2010 15:15

ledodgy, I'm not getting a lot of the details right at the moment - snow seems to be popping up at very short notice as little troughs appear (I got it very wrong for cardiff!) I think you may see some. Not sure about proper though.

EnnisDelMar · 27/11/2010 06:54

Ooh!!! We haven't got any yet, still, but there are now severe weather warnings for us on the mET office. (mutters: not much warning eh? eh?) Smile

we should have heavy snow today. Coming North apparently, and we are right at the bottom.

I'll let you know! Smile

Hope you lot get some as well, if you want that is.

CherryMonster · 27/11/2010 09:26

we had a sprinkling overnight, but not enough to play in. am wondering if there will be more today- it looks like it might well do, but the forecasts all say no

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/11/2010 10:35

I think its best to ignore the forecasts now! Though they can give a general indication, there will be little polar lows and troughs forming in the unstable flow. We've reached a point where everyone ought to be prepared and if it snows, it snows.

Feels like it ought to snow here too, I think it will....
