DS isn't eating - frustrated and tired of scraping banana off the floor

DS, 11m, has been BLW from 6 months. He's always been very fond of his food, and nowadays eats pretty much what we have. He particularly loves 'fruity' meat dishes like lamb tagine! But:

he's currently eating hardly anything. He might manage the odd mouthful of cottage cheese, a bite of a cream cheese sarnie, some small pieces of banana - but it mostly goes straight to the floor and I'm losing my marbles. Even old favourites, like chunks of cheese, or meaty pasta sauces, aren't cutting it at the moment, and it's been like this for a week or two now. He's had a couple of bugs, and might still be feeling queasy from tuesday, when he was sick, but he's not been off his food like this before, even while ill. He's teething, but doesn't seem bothered by it, and just started walking - if that might have anything to do with it??

I'm at the end of my tether (doesn't help that I also copped these two viruses, back to back) as everything I offer goes on the floor (with the exception of blueberries - you can imagine the nappies). Does this sound familiar? I miss his healthy appetite!

My DS cuts right down on his food whenever he is ill, even at nearly 13mo. We've recently had 2 weeks of nothing but BM (why aren't I a stick after all those calories running out of me down my baby's throat!?) and it took him a couple of days even after he was completely well to get back in the swing of food. (although perhaps the hospital food didn't help!)

Anyway, DS does this all the time and has always gone back to his food eventually. He fills up with milk to make up for it, and when he goes back to solids he seems to stuff his face to make up for it. I'd keep offering and try not to worry (at least not in front of him - and I know its not easy and I worry about mine when he does this too!) and give him a few more days and he'll probably be back on. You know he'll be fine so long as he's getting plenty of milk.

That makes me feel a lot better, thanks! I should probably be offering him BM more often, then. And no, I don't know why we aren't thinner!
