Blast! I've cracked and registered on bounty. Took ages to get my fake details accepted though - don't want to get loads of junk mail.

stretchmarkqueen · 06/10/2008 10:15

I was rude!! She said she wasn't 'bothered'! I couldn't resist!!

luvaduck · 06/10/2008 10:17

re the sterotyping comment

i know someone who was at cambridge university, is a nice middle class jewish girl who weaned at 13 weeks

nappyaddict · 06/10/2008 10:18

it doesn't allow cock or dick. what if my child was called dick!!

stretchmarkqueen · 06/10/2008 10:20

"Bounty Pack

Mr. Willetts: To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will place a copy of the bounty pack issued to new mothers in the Library. [58768]

Ms Blears: The bounty pack is not issued by the Department. The bounty pack is provided by the commercial organisation Bounty UK Ltd. and consists of sample products. Full information on Bounty UK is available at www.bounty.co.uk. "

There is just no information on Bounty!! It's a joke really. Apparently, they are part of 'Proctor and Gamble'

link here, just incase of legal reasons!

MrsJamin · 06/10/2008 10:22

"Bounty's partners include UK maternity hospitals and FMCG brands such as Procter & Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson and Asda." link (you may not be able to see all of it)

stretchmarkqueen · 06/10/2008 10:24

The hospitals are partners??? How the fuck is that possible??

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 06/10/2008 10:26

oh fgs babies wake up the night. They just do. Its what babies do. Why do we feel the need to get them to 'sleep through'?

And baby rice in bottles? Thats bad enough never mind rusks. My DD's tried rusks for the first time last week at age 5 and 16 months. They are full of sugar and have v little nutritional value imo so I never bought them untill DD1 asked if she could have the teddy bear biscuits. Why are people so obbesessed with bloody rusks?

And why are no mods stepping in? How can they possibly argue that putting baby rice/rusks into a babies is a good idea?

nappyaddict · 06/10/2008 10:32

fgs now they are recommending controlled crying for a 5 month old

RedOnHerBeheadedHead · 06/10/2008 10:33

shesells - because its a matter of having a "good" baby - yes, like as opposed to an ?evil? one!

"oh he's very good - sleeps through, feeds when i want him to feed, doesn't be sick, NEVER dribbles, NEVER CRIES, blah blah blah..." - these people don't want babies - they want a bloody Baby Annabel doll!

ilovemyflipflops · 06/10/2008 10:48

They should get one of these never poops, doesn't cry and sleeps all the time.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 06/10/2008 10:51

Yes but how would they get the rusks in? Baby Born might be a better sugestion. You can feed him flour and water. Although he does then need the potty Never cries though and only requires feeding when its an apporopriate time for you.

stretchmarkqueen · 06/10/2008 10:51

this any good??

Olessaty · 06/10/2008 10:53

Stereotyping is too far.

I'm a single unemployed mum, on benefits, living on a very rough estate (my neighbour is a dealer ) and I believe that breastfeeding and waiting to wean is very important. I also co-sleep and baby wear, and don't believe you can comfort a baby too much.

Whereas with my first when I was a respectable working mum, in a relationship, living in the nice part of town, I very nearly weaned at nine weeks (as my HV advised), then decided to wait until twelve, then he wasn't so hungry, so I weaned at nineteen instead.

Olessaty · 06/10/2008 10:55

Bounty barely mod the real abusive stuff, so you'll be lucky to have them watching for dangerous advice. I've seen it take days to remove someone being absolutely disgusting to other people.

nappyaddict · 06/10/2008 11:04

i tried to fill in that form from BFLG but i got a bit confused

Olessaty · 06/10/2008 11:09

My post looks a bit bad there.

I'm unemployed because I'm not long out a wheelchair and learning to cope with babies and toddlers before I start trying to work again.

nappyaddict · 06/10/2008 11:11

is that question about solids thread gone?

stretchmarkqueen · 06/10/2008 11:11

BFLG??

VictorianSqualor · 06/10/2008 11:14

Babyfeedinglawgroup.

It states that

The World Health Assembly has adopted Resolutions recommending exclusive breastfeeding until 6 months of age and stating that complementary feeding should be fostered from 'about 6 months'. It is, therefore, inappropriate for complementary foods (weaning foods) and other substances such as teas and juices to be promoted for use before 6 months of age. This is not yet covered by UK Law. You could bring these recommendations to the attention of your local Trading Standards Office and the relevant establishment where they are being broken.

So we can report bounty for having all that gumpf in their bags, not moderating their forums correctly and allowing the early weaning talk to continue and HiPP/cow and gate etc for saying 'from 4 months' on their food stuff, which was in the bounty bags.

VictorianSqualor · 06/10/2008 11:51

NA, I filled the form in thus.

Details of promotion

Title or heading on the materials :BOUNTY PACK

Date (please select one) is / / (dd/mm/yyyy)

To what product does the material refer?

Manufacturers name:bounty

Product brand name:Various products including HiPP organice juice and apple/pear puree and cow and gate baby rice

Type of material (please select one)ther

Where was the material found/observed (select one):shop

Name of place/media where it was found/observed:Boots/ASDA

Is the place/media: Public

Further information:
BOUNTY, who are seen by many as related to health professionals due to their allowed promotion in hospitals and maternity wards, plus the legal suppliers of child benefit forms, are still giving out food labelled 'from 4 months' in their marketing packs. If this wasn't enough, they are also incredibly lax in monitoring their forum. Allowing threads regarding weaning at 0-3 months, some as young as 6 weeks to continue, yet removing posts and threads by myself and others explaining current guidelines and why weaning at this age is inadvisable.

nappyaddict · 06/10/2008 12:40

Has anyone written to their local MP? If so can you send me a copy. I am crap at letter writing!

stretchmarkqueen · 06/10/2008 12:44

My local mp is Patricia Hewitt, so I am very interested in what she will have to say! Can't write any letters at the moment as I have a baby attached to my boob 24/7!

I am struggling to think of a way to start the letter, has anyone got any ideas?? I really am crap at this ATM!!

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 06/10/2008 12:47

Rusks for a 5 week old? she has got to be just stirring right? she cannot really truely mean that she would give her newborn son rusks surely? [http://my.bounty.com/forums/TreeLeaves.asp?btyOrder=1&btysubid=138&btythdid=1597671&btyGrpID=&btyIM G= here]]

No one could seriously consider that to be sensible?

stretchmarkqueen · 06/10/2008 12:51

I think she's stirring? I bloody hope so. You see, she's just probably said that to prove a point and get our backs up, but there are people on here who do that!!

And we get told off for ramming our 'opinions' down their throats FFS
