Anyone have any advice on how to stop feeding to sleep? My son is 19 months old and I’m trying to wean off feeding to sleep. He only had it at nap and bedtime. I’ve tried a couple of times and he seems very upset and it feels impossible! Any advice is appreciated! X

Are you breastfeeding to sleep ? Your local LaLecheLeague will be able to help and support. Why do you want to stop ? I breastfed to sleep until much much older than this because I viewed it as a superpower and the quickest thing to get everybody back to sleep at night. My 3 breastfed toddlers went asleep ok for other people they don’t expect to be breastfed by anyone else. You don’t have to stop feeding to sleep so someone else can look after your baby-they find their own way. If you’re looking for night weaning advice Emma Pickett ibclc has a milk matters podcast and has an episode on weaning that’s great.

Yes sorry, I mean breastfeeding to sleep. I was going to go until 2 but I’ve been reading about fertility and it may be disrupting my menstrual cycle. I’ve possibly been ovulating late and read that breastfeeding can contribute to this.

We have been trying for another baby for a little bit. My husband’s fertility is not great so trying to do what I can to help my odds.
