A day of food for your 1 year old - tell me about it!

DS has not long turned 1, he’s a great eater but I’m quickly losing meal and snack inspiration. Im back at work now and DH works away a few weeks at a time so often DS eats dinner as soon as I’m home from work then I eat later so I find it much easier batch cooking for him so that I always have a freezer stocked with healthy dinners etc that I can make quickly when I get home.

Tell me what your 1 year old eats in a day 😊 give me some inspiration!

I don't know if you're on instagram but _myfirstmeals has some great ideas and they're all super simple to make and most of them can be frozen. Here's one of hers I did this morning -

Courgette egg muffins (some to eat, some to freeze)-
1 grated courgette, 1 crumbled weetabix, 2 beaten eggs and a handful of grated cheddar. Mix and fill mini muffin tins, bake for 20mins

My DS also loves her broccoli loaf -
1 chopped head of broccoli, 1 cup oats, 1 cup of any milk, 1 handful of cheddar, 4 eggs - mix altogether and pour into lined loaf tin and bake for 30mins. Slice when cool - I usually get 12 slices

I love this topic 😊

My little lad will be 1 in two weeks. Here's what he has at least once a week.

Breakfast:
1 weetabix with 90ml formula (soon cows milk)
blueberries

Snacks:
Apple puree
Biscotti (Heinz or Aldi)

Lunch:
Zwieback (German hard cracker) with full fat cream cheese
Cheddar cubes
Kiwi
Steamed apple/pear slices

Dinner:
Courgette pizza (from What Mummy Makes, love her cookbook)
OR
Nutmeg/Aldi/Heinz 12+ meals if "it's one of those days" 😉

Whenever I do any kind of finger food for him I make enough for 2-3 days. He loves the pizzas I make, also frittatas and muffins. You can use up so much veg in those!

@JennyWren87 you know that you can use cow's milk on his cereal from 6 months don't you? Smile

@Pacidove Thanks 😊 haven’t seen that page on Instagram 😊 I sometimes make DS a courgette loaf - I think the recipe was in the What Mummy Makes book. Might sub out the courgette for broccoli for a wee change though 😊

@JennyWren87 It’s been such a quick year, hasn’t it?! I can’t believe how quickly the 1st birthdays came around! I agree, the WMM cook book is great! DS loves the chicken curry!

I do now 😆 no honestly I knew it was little amounts of cows milk in cooking. I didn't know cereal was OK too. So thank you for an easier morning!
