Hello there,

Yesterday I tried my baby on pea purée (week into weaning) she hated it! Do I carry on with it today or move onto something diff? Or reinforce her with some fruit purée after?
Thanks so much!

Could you mix it with something else? Had you put it through a strainer to remove the skins? Can't think it'd be very nice on its own. What age is your baby? They are fun as finger food

My dd used to live pea and apple purée, maybe you could try this

SkeletorAttack · 29/12/2020 08:53

Definitely keep exposing her to peas, in the same purée form and others.

babblingbrooks · 29/12/2020 08:54

If she's anything like my LO what she absolutely hates today will be her favourite tomorrow, so I would keep offering her a variety!

TanglinOrchards · 29/12/2020 08:55

I read it takes about 12 times of repeated introductions before they decide they like it or not. (Although in my case it took me nearly 30 years to like pumpkin).

Certainly with DS1 i had to put cucumber on his plate for weeks before he would eat it.

StrawberryFries · 29/12/2020 08:55

Keep on with it, maybe as a PP said mix it with something else. But I’d keep on with it maybe just try it in a few different ways

LIZS · 29/12/2020 08:56

Mix with mashed potato or carrot if he has had those. Or leave it a week or so and try again.

GrumpyHoonMain · 29/12/2020 08:56

No you keep offering it and she will decide after 10-15 exposures whether she hates it or not. DS hated peas but after 5 exposures he loved it and its now his favourite.

Ok great! Thanks so much 😀

I would offer again but not straight away, there is so much choice out there anyway.

JingleJohnsJulie · 29/12/2020 10:46

You could always try the MN Garlic Peas recipe. She might just like them a bit more tasty Smile

Like others have said though, she'll probably like them if you keep offering. I'd personally leave it a couple of days before you try again though. There are so many other lovely things to try

ChristingleAlltheWay · 30/12/2020 21:03

You could try mixing some full fat yoghurt in with it. Mine would eat anything if mixed with yoghurt!

delilahbucket · 30/12/2020 21:08

Keep offering. DS has disliked so many foods and then would just start eating them. I personally prefer petis pois to normal peas though Wink

How are you getting on now @BabyCJuly? Did you try the peas again? Smile
