Hiiii,

When did you successful BLW your little ones??

I really want to try the blw approach. My lg is 6 months almost and we've been giving her a few puréed pouches or fruit and veg here and there. She absolutely lovessss it. She takes a huge interested in food! (She grabbed a chip and my hand and shoved it in her mouth!)

So we tried with Avocado and broccoli on separate days. We had puréed of each and then very soft formed versions to compliment it. She took no notice of the broccoli or avocado and went straight for the puréed food with her hand. Is there a chance she might not be ready yet despite being 6 months?

We spoon fed her and she wasn't a fan - which I know is super normal and we just need to keep trying. I am just wondering whether I should stick to puréed weaning or carry on with BLW and if she completely ignores the food it's okay?

She's very small yet...so it will be fine for her to carry on giving her bits of whatever you have. Neither of mine were spoon fed regularly..I've just never felt it was needed.

I wouldn’t give her purée if you want to blw. Just let her taste and explore.

One of the brilliant things about BLW is that it really helps children develop their fine motor skills and hand-to-mouth coordination, so just keep offering finger foods and she’ll soon get the hang of it.
