went into ds's 9 month check today all set to have to explain and defend BLW but not only had the doctor and nurse heard of it, they thought it was fabulous and were delighted i was doing it!

am so pleased, i didn't think i'd have much trouble as they do recommend weaning at 6 months and moving very quickly to fingerfoods and lumpy foods but wasn't expecting them to be so clued up!

Our health visitor suggested it for DD who shows no interest in eating at 6 months (well anything off a spoon anyway) So we are just going to put food in front of her and see what happens.

how does your dd like it so far?

must say they weren't at all pushed when i said he doesn't eat a massive amount yet... was expecting the 'he must have 3 meals a day' speach

She's really just playing with the food, but today I think she actually did eat some . She's only just overt 6 months so I'm not too worried about how much she eats as she's still bfeeding plenty.

it takes til 7/8 months for most to really 'get it' so she's plenty of time yet.

you'd be surprised how much has gone in without you noticing too.... i often give ds something and think he's eaten noneonly to find it in the nappy the next day

That's reassuring DS loved his food from word go so DD's reluctance was a bit of a surprise.

well dd was very into her food at the beginning and now at 2 has heaps of allergies and hardly eats at all

so a good start isn't necessarily and indication of future behaviour towards food
