Hi all,

I know that babes shouldn't be given fat free yougurt (mine is 11 months) - do you know if this applies to skyr plain yogurt which appears to be 'naturally' fat free? Can she eat it or best avoided - many thanks wise ones!

It's not that it's unsafe, just that in general they should have full fat products. Some fat free yoghurt would be fine alongside other full fat products.

It's about filling up a small tummy with nutritionally weak food - then there won't be any room for calories etc. So I would always choose full fat everything to cram as many calories as possible into a small space!

It is full of protein though and is also low sugar. Sounds fine to me

DS occasionally gets semi-skimmed milk or fat free yogurt if it is all we have in. As others have said it is about calories and nutrients, not that there is anything dangerous about low fat yogurt.
