DD2 is 22 weeks. Too young I think, I'd prefer to leave it a few more weeks, but I've given her some food to 'play' with whilst we eat. (Plain soft toast)
She's just picked it up and started sucking and chewing it.
My worry is that she's not sitting unsupported yet. She's in one of those snug seats from mamas and papas.
Now she's had a taste do I keep it up??

Don't think you're supposed to give toast (wheat/gluten) before 6 months. No harm in waiting again or give her some soft fruits/cooked veg the next time you have some available and see how she gets on with them

Our baby who could crawl at 6 months couldn't sit unsupported at 6 months! It just means they shouldn't be slumped, they need to be able to support themselves enough with a bit of propping up by a cushion in a highchair - I imagine the seat you mentioned is similar.

22 weeks seems young, there's no rush. You don't need to keep offering food yet.

Thanks, it feels to me like it's way too soon, but started to wonder if I was wrong given how remarkably efficient she seemed to be!

I don't know why I gave her it! I'll hold off a few more weeks and then start properly with cooked veg.
