Rough proportions of milk to food for 8 month old?

DD loves to cuddle up with a b/f. She also loves eating real food.

How do I know if I'm giving the right sort of proportions of milk to food, or does it not matter? I seem to recall that they should have more milk than food at 8 months, but I may have got that wrong.

Sometimes she insists on milk rather than food, mostly she's not bothered which. Should I just carry on letting her decide?

Pretty much. if she's healthy and happy then you're doing ok!
They say about a pint of milk a day at this stage, but if your only breastfeeding then you can't tell.
I would give milk on waking, offer some breakfast, milk for morning sleep time, offer luch, milk for afternoon sleep, offer dinner and then milk again before bed.

ds is 7 months and we have less milk and more food now - bf after breakfast, mid morning snack and mid afternoon snack then last chance for milk at bedtime, I offer water at meal times and he's just starting to get the hang of it

if you're both happy with what you're doing now then should be fine - we do more food cause ds was unsettled with less

Thanks, sounds as if I'm on the right lines.
