14 month old Son batting away spoons of food

My 14 month old has started batting away any spoon full of food I put towards his mouth. The only thing he will eat is squares of toast that he picks up himself.
Question! What do I do?? Do I persist with spoons of food or give him the only thing he will eat (peppa pig bloody yogurts).
He just shakes his head angrily and batts the food away. If I try to put the spoon near his mouth he shakes his head vigorously to miss it.

This is a recent development. He was fine before. Hmm

Maybe let him try and feed himself? Using cutlery, or his fingers?

Try finger food. Mini meat balls, steamed veg, fruit sticks, steamed chicken, roast potatoes etc he may well just not want to be fed any more by you and want to do it himself :)

?ounds like he is giving you a clear message Smile

I'd get him some big boy cutlery and let him have a try. If you are worried about him not eating enough maybe try some finger foods too. These are good and my DC both love cheese straws.

Blueberry or banana pancakes, scrambled eggs or eggy bread are all good for breakfast Smile

These make a nice meal for everyone for either lunch or dinner. We all like them Smile

What other finger foods have you offered baby should be self feeding by now

How are you getting on now wishin?

Just give his food, with a spoon and fork, and let him get on with it. DS2 would never let me feed him, he just fed himself mashed or chopped food from 7 months.
