I saw on another thread that the ikea antilope is highly recommended & I'd buy it - if my nearest ikea wasn't in Edinburgh/Glasgow! Hmm When are they going to do home delivery????

So I'm looking for recommendations for the next best high chair to have please!

Anything that is plain plastic and easy to wipe clean! No padding that gets food and crumbs caught in all the creases. Also depends if you want baby to sit up at the table with you, if so check the height and make sure it had a removable tray.
The wooden ones seem good, Lthough I have the ikea! Did hear they were starting delivery though?....

They do deliver. The Stokke Tripp Trapp. Expensive though.

Or see if someone locally is selling an Antilop second hand? Try eBay / local fb selling group, etc.

You can buy it on amazon! Grin I loved my ikea high chair!

Ikea do delivery! I bought my antilop online.

Stokke Tripp trapp- more expensive bit can use from baby- adult if you want. We used with newborn seat for small baby, then as regular highchair, now as toddlers they have without bar/ strap but as higher seat so they can reach. It goes straight to table not with a tray away from table

Blush holy moly they DO do delivery now - whoops!
That certainly wasn't the case last year when we were travelling back from Oxfordshire & stopped at Newcastle ikea. Couldn't fit a billy bookcase in the car & they said they didn't deliver.

Yay! Antilop all the way! Although amazon delivery charges are probably cheaper eh?

We got a baby bjorn chair - its great, no harness or mucky corners etc & the tray fits in dishwasher (although tbh no chair in the world is as handy as a cocker spaniel Grin )

QueenoftheHolly · 03/07/2013 18:03

For preventing mess I mean, not for a baby to sit on Grin Grin

AnythingNotEverything · 03/07/2013 18:09

I love the idea of a baby being weaned on the back of a cocker spaniel Grin

Look on ebay for used ikea ones?

We used the Fisher Price healthy care booster thingy. Supportive enough for a 5 month old to sit up in but then converts to normal chair booster later so they can reach the table. Has it's own tray or can use normal table, is portable, and there are different versions so you can choose one with a play tray or one with little sections for different foods (which are even sealable! Genius!) - really handy IMO.

This one - I seem to remember we got ours on an offer for about £20.
