What's the salt content?

stottiecake · 20/02/2012 21:20

hmmm. That would be a good place to start! Am stuck on sofa bf-ing and having a small panic that I shouldn't have given him any to try at teatime! Will check when he wakes up!

It'll be fine. Unless he ate the whole pack of pastry with feta cheese, and even then, it probably wouldn't be an issue as a one off

bigbadbarry · 20/02/2012 21:24

It will be fine. How much did he consume?!

Yama · 20/02/2012 21:26

It will be fine. The good thing is that the distress it has caused you tonight will make you check in future. Salt is a bugger for turning up in things.

OK, an adult serving of Jus Rol contains 0.6g salt. If the baby had a 1/3 adult portion that's 0.2g - a baby's daily allowance is 1g I think, so unless the rest of his day was marmite and crisps he'll be fine.

brilliant thank you!

Need also to seek out salt free stock cubes... Completely out of practice with cooking for babies!

Salt free ones are a bit pointless TBH, dont taste of much.

You could try the low salt normal stock cubes, as your LO would have to have about 250 mls to be over there 1g daily "allowance". I use these to make big batches of food for my LO. Happy cooking Smile
