7 month old won't drink water, what juice is safe to give her?

DD is 7 months next week - she is on 4 milk feeds and 3 meals a day (combination of purees and finger foods) and is doing really well. However she will not accept water, she will drink from a cup or beaker but spits it out as soon as it's in her mouth.

I bought a small, 150ml bottle of Heinz juice (said suitable for 4-36 months on the bottle) and added a small amount to some cooled, boiled water - about 1oz to 5oz water. She accepted this a lot easier and drank around an ounce. It's stupidly expensive though, cost 80p for a small bottle and said to discard any left after 24 hours. The big bottles are around £2 and only last 4 days. I don't want to give her it undiluted as the sugar content seemed quite high and she was fine with just a little.

Are there any other juices that I can safely add to her water? DP and I don't really drink juice, just water and sugar free squash, which I know I can't give her.

What about the innocent juices... They're spring water with a bit of squeezed orange (I think)?

DD used to refuse water, but drank herbal teas. She liked fennel best - just make sure there's no liquorice in as it raises blood pressure.

(She drinks water now though - the teas seemed to ease the transition.)

Just wanted to add my LO refused water for about a month then all of a sudden started drinking it no problem. He is 9.5mo now and happily drinks water.

Try and avoid juice as they are unlikely to go back to water once they've tried juice. I really believe my LO didnt need water as he was getting al his fluid from his milk. Be patient and it will happen Smile

DS did the same in the beginning. Now (9 months) he does swallow some water, but still enjoys spitting loads out as well. What helped was giving him very small sips. If he sucked too much at the cup (we use those Tommee Tippee sippy cups with the handles) he'd just have a mouth full of water and spit it all out rather than swallow it.

I'd say just stick with it. They'll get most of their fluid intake from milk anyway at this point.
