Heating stored/frozen baby foods or purees with meat

If for instance I make up a batch of chicken with sweet potato and freeze it in portions, when I go to use it do I have to heat it to piping hot and then cool it?

It never really occured to me to do this but I would always make sure I do this for my food Confused

Also what about the pouches and stuff with meat in?

Yes, I always do this for baby frozen food regardless of whether it has meat in it or not, just to be on the safe side really!

yes i just zap it in the microwave so that it is piping hot and then if i need to cool it quickly i stand the pot in a bowl of water and stir it, it only take a few mins :)

oh re the puhces the ellas kitchen ones etc say they can be eaten at room temp and no need to heat, unless they have already been opened and stored in the fridge, then i always heat. the packet will have instructions on it tho :)

Lovely, thank you. This suddenly dawned on me yesterday, after a week of my dd having diarrhea. I don't expect its got anything to do with it but i'm glad I brought it up. Thanks Grin
