So far I have just been letting my baby eat as much as she wants. I make all of her food so I know its all good healthy stuff.... but my husband has expressed concern that she eats too much. She is happy on the 90% weight line...

She has three meals, a rice cake/ biscuit/tangerine as a snack, and also 12-18 oz of formula...

recently she has been finishing her meal portions and screaming for more and more... do I just keep feeding her?

just wondering when you control portions... or if ever? I really want her to have a healthy relationship with food... I hate worrying

When we saw the dietician at 12m, she said LO needed ~20oz milk and if he wanted more food to feed him! He too is an eating machine happily on 91st and she wasn't worried that he was overweight or over eating.
Sounds like you're doing fine. As long as her food is healthy, let her eat her fill!

My DD is 98th height and weight and when she is the mood boy can she eat! She is 19 months now and some days I think she has hollow legs. Other days she hardly bothers with food at all.

I think generally it tends to even itself out. I also think that babies and toddlers are far better moderators at eating when they are hungry than we are! My dd has 1 biscuit as a treat a day and anything else inbetween meals is fruit. But as she would live on bananas and apples that isn;t an issue.

Provided dc isn't filling up on junk then go with the flow. If you are like me then next week you will worrying she isn;t eating enough!!

DD has always had a HUGE appetite and I was a bit worried about how much she was eating at one stage but my GP said just to let her have as much as she wants. Like you I knew it was all healthy and she does eat piles of fruit and veggies so I haven't cut back at all. She feeds herself and I never encourage her to finish meals. She is full of energy and now she is mobile she runs around like a little whirlwind all day so I guess she needs her food.

The only thing I am a bit careful with is pasta with sauce as she just inhales it and will demolish a portion in record time then start yelling for more Shock. I really think she eats it too quickly to know if she is full so I give her a small portion and when she asks for more I take my time about putting it on the plate and encourage her to eat some veggies while she is waiting. She sometimes has thirds or fourths but it slows her down and she will stop eating when she is full.

Both my DD were eating the most they ever have in their lives at 11 mths. Even DD2, who always had a monster appetite, has slowed down since she turned 1. At 11 mths she was almost eating adult portions. One day, you'll look back at these days wistfully as they push away full plates of delicious food.
