We’re thinking about Easter hols next year. Just wondering if anyone else has experience of going during Easter ? And it’s been nearly 30 years since I’ve been to Florida…and not sure what to expect. We’d stay on park I think. Does it all feel quite safe etc?

Safe in what respect?

Easter is one of the busiest times of year. If you're staying on site it might be worth waiting for the free dining offer to drop in April, I haven't looked at it since it returned post Covid, but it was always a good deal for us, the dates used to exclude Easter though so would need to check that.

Safe? Very. Once you're on property you're just stuck in the bubble if you choose. We went after the elections and were approached by both Rep and Demo's trying to justify their feelings. Pretty funny but both times occurred in the pool!

We stay in the villa's so we can cook and wash while we're there. It saves a ton of money on eating out - although it's obviously a high price to begin with. Try David's Vacation Rentals if your budget is big enough. Always handy for comparison purposes anyway,

Safe as in petty crime etc. I guess I’m out of practice travelling and feel a bit nervy.
The free dining offer sounds v interesting. We have quite a long holiday at Easter so I wonder if there’s a quieter period in the holiday?

I've actually cancelled a holiday in November to Disneyworld because I'm not fully confident in going to the USA - I can't fully explain it but I just don't feel safe so I understand where you're coming from but it's only a decision you can make, we're thinking of Japan instead (or being adults and doing much needed renovations Grin)

However if you do decide to go easter is incredibly busy so I'd look at ways to manage it.

Thanks everyone. Great tips. Maybe May half term would be better?

May is a lot better - for crowds and weather.

We went in May last time and it was a great time, the crowds were completely manageable (until Memorial Day weekend).

We went at Easter 2 years ago, stayed at Disney springs and felt very safe. I was a little bit uncomfortable when we left the Disney bubble to visit friends in Tampa (and I can’t really explain why!) but on and around property was fine. It was pretty busy and we had genie plus about half the days we were there and made good use of early entry.
