Any ideas if a Wii bought in UK can be used in France?

Packaging says can only be used in the UK, Ireland or Malta. Why can't it be used in France? I know Wiis bought over there can be used over here. Anyone know?

TIA

can't see why it wouldn't.

as long as the games you buy for it are compatibale all i can see would be that maybe the voltage would be different. so long as you get an adapter it should be ok

That's what I thought but I really don't want disappointed children on xmas day when I can't get it to work. Does anyone know for sure?

because the UK use 240 volts and in France they use much less volatage?

Or due to different frequency?

pinkteddy · 10/12/2009 19:55

I am worried its a different frequency. But as I say, I know Wiis bought over there can be used over here so I don't understand why the difference? Was hoping someone on here would know for sure!

Definitely does, as we bought a Wii here in the UK for my DSis's children in October, and they live in France. Just remember the adapter!

Don't think they have bought any new games for it yet, though.

Great, thanks Poledra! Why does it say that on the packaging I wonder? Curious.
