Hello!

My son currently plays Minecraft on the family switch (switch 1), on adventurer mode.

We have bought him his own switch (switch 1) for Christmas.

so my question is, will he loose all his current progress or is there a way that he can continue to build on his current world without interruption?

You should be able to use save transfers to move all his progress over to the new console.

He shouldn't lose any progress in any of his games.
