Retro console or emulator (iOS or Android) with parental control

[Bigthoughtz]

Evening all, first post. Modern Games on phones and tablets are loaded with adverts, and whilst I see why, the ads are not necessarily age appropriate for the kid playing the game.

So my wondering was if you have any recommendations for any handheld retro gaming consoles, or for any good phone emulator apps (android or apple) WITH parental controls? Or if not then also advice on parental control apps?

thanks and toodles.

You can get a Retroid Pocket 5 for less than 250 from WhatGeek. It'll emulate all the classic retro consoles, and even some PS2/Wii games if you're willing to fiddle with it a bit.

If you're looking at games for children on Android, I'd also consider creative games where they can make characters and create their own stories rather than only playing traditional console-style games. Toca Boca has quite a few creative ideas around characters, locations and storytelling. I also found some useful ideas here: Toca Boca Pro — https://tocabocapro.me/
