What do we think of the Switch2?

I don't want to put it down!

Mario Kart World is incredible!

I picked up a case this morning so I can take it to work to play on my breaks.

I kind of don't see the point

The switch was fine

This is just.... more expensive

Needmorelego · 06/06/2025 17:47

Are the controllers better?
The annoying thing about the Switch is the controllers (when using them handhold) are so bloody small.

Ponderingwindow · 06/06/2025 17:48

That without a new Animal Crossing there is no point

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 06/06/2025 17:49

Is it worth the cost of the games? I dont have a switch but were thinking about getting one

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine.

The Switch2 itself is larger and more comfortable to hold. The Joy Cons act as mice, they connect via magnets and attach much easier than the original. The resolution is 1080 as opposed to 720, it is LCD but I imagen they'll bring out an OLED version in a year or two but screen is still a huge improvement over the Switch1.

It's the first Nintendo console to support 4k, it has voice chat and the storage is 7/8 times the original

The lack of game sharing is a bit of a stab in the back but in the grand scheme of things, I can live with it.

It's very reasonably priced.

They are more comfortable to hold but if the size is an issue, just buy the Switch2 pro controller, it's about £50 but is well worth it in my opinion

We have a couple of controllers that are the plug in type which we prefer.

I'd say yes. It's a controversial topic at the moment but I think £70 is reasonable.

I have the Switch 1 & OLED version so many of the games I'm able to pay a £10 upgrade and not have to buy a whole new game.

Many games aren't £70, you can pick up plenty for £30/40. It really depends what you want to play.

I put the cartridge into the Switch 2 and honestly the loading time is faster!

Can’t wait, but we’re away on holiday until next week! Mario Kart and also the upgrades for Zelda! 😍

I'm struggling if to upgrade from Switch 1 or buy the physical Switch 2 game for Tears of the Kingdom. I do love having the actual card despite it being a faff

If you own the physical switch 1 card, you just need the £7.99 digital upgrade.

Mine is coming today, excited!!
My daughter got hers on launch day (pre ordered) and I wasn't going to get one, my oled switch is fine but after seeing it oh dear 😅

Costs not much less than my dishwasher though🤣🤣
