GTA Online...what do I need to buy?

Basically that. Buying for someone for Christmas.
Do I need to buy the original version too? Is GTA Online like an add-on?
Do they need PS plus? (Essential, Extra or premium).

Is it a ps5 the person you’re getting it for has?

if you buy gta5 the online edition (allows multiplayer) comes with it.

youll need a subscription to PS Plus to play.

basically if they already own GTA5, what you’re actually needing is a PS Plus subscription. They come in different tiers depending on the game / in game add ons you want.

(my caveat to this is that periodically play station periodically have gta online in free to play but I think it’s back on PS plus subscription (essential).

if it’s last minute you can buy online vouchers eg from Argos that can then be loaded on to the persons account, or they can use it for other games if you’re not 100% sure it’s GTA ONLINE they want - essentially gta online allows for remote multiplayer

If they have a playstation it is very likely they already have PS Plus.

You can either buy them the disc (from Argos, Smyths etc) or just buy it online from playstation store with credit/debit card or you could give them a PS store voucher for the amount..
