If you like Animal Crossing

Can you recommend some games for me?

I bought a Nintendo switch 4 years ago during the first lockdown and I was obsessed with animal crossing

Since I had my daughter it's lived in a draw, I got it out the other day and thought about selling it but I don't think I'd get that much for it.

Can anyone recommend some games I might really enjoy?

I am not a big gamer whatsoever but I did love animal crossing, I became bored once I'd completed the "levels" and nothing new happened

Try Wylde Flowers and Fae Farm. Both loads of fun.

Stardew valley is great

Not like it at all, but I love Animal Crossing and also Pokémon! The running around "collecting" Pokémon and items is fun, especially in the newer "bigger" games where you have a lot of space to do so in. And the strategy of the type matching appeals to me much more than straight "fighting".

Notsomini · 20/02/2024 19:39

There is a bit of fighting in it but you can actually just spend all your time farming it's called Harvestella.

Or if you like puzzle games the professor Layton's are good and chill.

Disney Dreamlight Valley - it's very similar to Animal Crossing in that you get a village to decorate and villagers to talk to and hang out with but all the villagers are characters from various disney films. You get the daily store for getting items, crafting, some farming, lots of decorating but also lots of story quests for each of the characters so you get to know your villagers more than in AC. It's getting regular updates with new characters and stories so you always have something new to do.

If you liked the farming side of things more maybe stardew valley, but if the graphics on that put you off I really liked Harvest Moon: Light of hope.

RedRobyn2021 · 21/02/2024 13:28

@DoAWheelie thanks the graphics did put me off! I'll check out harvest moon

I saw the Disney dream light valley but wasn't sure, thanks for the recommendation. I just want to make sure I pick something I'd enjoy because the games are quite pricey!

Stardew Valley is great!

romdowa · 21/02/2024 13:57

I'd definitely reccomend dreamlight valley. They are adding content all the time so you get a lot of bang for your buck

Jagley · 21/02/2024 14:53

Another vote for Stardew valley. I prefer it to animal crossing to be honest.

Teasie123 · 24/02/2024 16:17

@RedRobyn2021 , Disney Dream light valley. I love love love animal crossing and I love it too!!! Only thing is my son just broke my Nintendo switch!😤😤😤

tamagotchimustdie · 21/03/2024 19:39

Another vote for Fae Farm!

ThreeEggOmlette · 21/03/2024 19:43

I'm throwing caution to the wind & recommending Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild.

Yes, there IS goblin slaying which is as far removed from Animal Crossing as you can get, but it's a beautiful game with puzzles & tasks. I love it.

DCINightingale · 21/03/2024 19:48

100% stardew valley

FknOmniShambles · 21/03/2024 19:48

Yet another piling in to say Stardew Valley - it's just great

Comfyonion · 22/03/2024 09:27

Stardew valley - farming, fishing, villager interactions, romance and (very gentle) scandal, festivals and easy to achieve goals. There's so much content, it's incredibly relaxing - apart from the Easter festival - but captivating and compelling. The music is great and there is enough variety in how to spend each day so you won't get bored. I have played it for 100s of hours and writing that just makes me want to play it again!

HoppingPavlova · 22/03/2024 09:39

Dreamlight Valley. Only game I’ve liked other than Animal Crossing. My (adult) kids try to get me into games on the family Nintendo thingy but those have been the best only ones I can abide.

ParanoidAndroid87 · 23/03/2024 10:55

Huge vote for Stardew Valley. SO many hours spent in this game, also there's a new update that just came out the game looks extremely basic at a glance, but there's a hell of a lot more to it than meets the eye. It's also incredibly cheap in price for the amount of content and gameplay potential!

Fae Farm & Dreamlight Valley are also decent games too Smile

AncientSkaterGirl · 23/03/2024 11:19

I enjoy animal crossing and also enjoy playing Disney Dreamlight Valley and Stardew Valley.

Fofftwenty21 · 29/03/2024 23:49

Stardew Valley definitely 👍

Also been really enjoying My time at Sandrock (Portia sequel)

DoAWheelie · 02/04/2024 16:38

I just picked up Everdream Valley for £10 in the sale and I'm really liking it so far.

Side note - why does every cosy game have dream or valley in the title these days. It's starting to get very confusing.
