No it's not the Mateo challenge. It's a different friendship timed research. I'm in Australia so a bit ahead of you.

I found that I only encountered Mateo at the end of the route by clicking on the gym or poke stop where the route ends.

@pottypotamus I’ve tried the clicking/restarting etc solutions. It’s listed as a known bug that he won’t appear if you quit out of a route 😫

Having been stuck on 2 research quests for weeks because I haven't been able to catch a ditto I've caught 3 of them in 10 minutes tonight.

I need to battle in a megaraid for my next field research, have a remote raid pass if anyone wants to invite me to one they're passing, I'm thecrazyonesmum.
Unicorngirlsooz I think we're due to go up a friendship level tomorrow if we want to try and time it right for an egg? I think I've missed every other opportunity to use one for levelling up with everyone else.

@AlmostLegendary It’s been really nice not to have challenge upon challenge to work on for a change. No conflict of interests over the holidays for once. I still recall the ex raid we were supposed to drive half an hour each way for at 1pm (maybe it was 2pm) on Christmas Day. Suffice to say we didn’t make that one..!

I’m still after a shiny vanillite. I have caught quite a few other duplicate shinies though. Almost have all the Eevee costume forms from this season now, just need to set some lures up to finish that collection. Only two shinies costume eevee so am going to have to decide which form to evolve of that.

Regarding your mega raid research, either just dump it for other field research. Or if you really want to do an ex raid and no invites forthcoming then you will likely find a group on the ‘go raid party’ app or other similar apps. You do need to be prepared to loose your pass if the group doesn’t work out though which happens occasionally. Good luck.
