I am feeling quite excited that the rat king has been included in the list of bosses explaining the infected though. So hoping that bastard to kill thing makes the cut for the second season

Glad you are here @gamerchick. I was thinking about your comments about Lev on the other thread. There’s going to be significant pressure for them to do something different with him in s2, if he’s there at all.

Will they really do the golf clubs when Pedro Pascal is proving so popular?

They have to do 'that' scene. It's the whole point of the second game. Revenge doesn't pay and all that. Lev changed Abby so I can't see how they can leave him out. But the outrage and the death threats were outrageous. I think we'll get an idea when they cast Abby what the general mood is like from that area.

I am curious to see how they do the second game into screen time that being said. It's going to be tricky but I can't see them not doing the gold club scene. Going to be hard to watch though.

I did think it was a genius move to make sam deaf though. They had to make us care he was going to die in one episode, where in the game we had him for a while. Very clever.

Tommy bit next, that could go in any direction it wants I think.

Having seen a trailer for ep6 I think we are also going to get some of the DLC with the flashback to the mall, and Riley.

I am a big fan of the original game (less so the second one) and I'm really enjoying this series so far. I'd be so interested to know why they've made some of the changes they have though.

Bill was one of my favourite characters from the original game and while episode 3 was wonderful it did feel a bit like I was watching a different character tbh. And I missed the little interactions Ellie and Bill had in the game.

That scene in the latest ep where the infected pour out from underground was amazing.

I really hope we get to keep Joel in the series! But who knows.

I am wondering how they will portray David as well, one of the most memorable (in the worst way) characters from the game.

How could we keep Joel though? The whole second game is revenge driven, because of what happens to him and what he did.

I do believe we've still got Tommy's wife going on a still I saw recently.

The David bit was a pain in the arse to play, I hope they put him in somewhere.

I'm a massive fan of both games, I was reluctant to actually watch the series but I'm glad I did, really impressed with it so far. I loved what they did with Sam and Henry's characters and deaths, didn't expect to be so gripped by them!

For the Joel incident. The voice actress got death threats also.

They shouldn't have modeled Abby on a real person I think. But then it'll.be the same crap as Ellie when she's cast.

People when they played the game, killed Abby a chunk of times as well for what she did to Joel. People take this shit seriously far too much.

I'd grown to love both sides by the end of it. Abby's a great character.

I have to switch on slowmo aim and unlimited ammo whenever I face the rat king now. Can't be arsed with that shit!

I liked playing as Abby. She could run and jump mich better than Ellie.

Episode 6 - did we all spot Dina?!

I wasn't overly impressed with this episode. It felt a little flat over all. Lots of walking and talking. The ending was pretty well done though!

I wonder how they'll do the David bit.

They’re going to make us wait for it. I think we will meet him in ep8 or v end of ep 7. Looks like next episode is Left Behind so I think we’ll see v little of the present-day Joel / Ellie narrative.

Yeah I've just seen it's left behind and the season finale is only 46 minutes, but I'm assuming that includes ads. We may not get David at all.

The 46 mins won’t include ads. We watch the UHD downloads from Sky which have no ads and last night’s was 56 mins. It will be a shorter ep than others but I think it will stick quite faithfully to the final game mission.

I reckon it maps out as:
ep 7 - Ellie caring for Joel, using all the time when she is on her own hunting etc to get in her head and cover the Left Behind content. End of ep cliffhanger will be her encountering David et al on a hunt.
ep 8 - the David storyline will play out. I’m sure they have included it (although I saw some speculation that they have changed the character name to throw gamers off). I have seen a pretty widely-circulated production still of Ellie covered in blood spatter and Joel comforting her, so I think we will get a direct quote of the machete kill and aftermath.
ep 9 - arrive SLC for the final mission…

Good shout OP. I think the David storyline was pretty crucial to character arcs of both Joel and Ellie, interested to see how
/if it will play out.
I hope we see a little more of bad ass Joel in the next episodes. He obviously can't be superhuman like he is in the games but I'd like to see him kick some arse and become that fiercely protective father figure that we've known him as.

I was wondering about David but according to the Wikipedia page, someone was cast as David so I assume he'll be making an appearance. Which is good because that whole chapter is pivotal to the story imo.

Agree that the next episode will mostly be Ellie's past with the Left Behind content, episode 8 will be the Lakeside Resort with David, last episode will be Bus Depot/Firefly Lab/Epilogue.

Really hope so. That David bit was a big learning curve for Ellie and her development.

It's looking promising with these run times.

Has anyone watched the latest? Loved the nod to a-ha, it will make the Dina and Ellie moment (if they include it in S2) even more meaningful.
I thought the girl playing Riley was a brilliant actress!
