Do you need fake DoB for Fortnite?

After much consideration we've agreed our 10-year-old may play Fortnite (no judgement here please - that's not what I've come for). I've been trying for ages to set him up on our PS4 but keep getting "account does not meet mimumum age". Do we have to create a new PS account with an incorrect date of birth to make it work? Or is there a proper solution? Thanks.

On PS4 you need to make an adult PS Account, then create an account for your child under Settings > Family Management (or something like that). You can't create a full PS account for them as that's over 18s only.

You will still need to lie about their DOB though as Fortnite is rated PEGI 12 and on PS4 they just totally lock younger kids out. I believe on PS5 they've changed this as it's a bit heavy-handed.
