Civ 5, which is better than Civ 6 in my opinion.

Where The Water Tastes Like Wine is on the shorter side but fun for a Bank Holiday entertainment.

DH has been playing Factorio solidly since Christmas Day, he loves it.

I used to love civ revolution on the xbox, but the steam version doesn't look as much fun- too much fighting.

In the Advanced settings menu for both Civilisation V and 6 you can untick the Domination Victory option. This makes the AI players far less likely to attack. I play like this because I hate battles and love building stuff.

The full version of Civ V - including Brave New World expansion pack - is the best gameplay for my money.

However in 6 the addition of Natural Wonders from all over the globe is very interesting (I’d never heard of half of them) and the range of Wonders you can build is incredibly diverse and cool. Plus it’s Sean Bean narrating.

If your style is sprawling large empires 6 is great. If you build tall rather than wide (fewer but larger cities) 5 is better.

Literally many thousand hours of my life, can’t you tell?

Our sons play, DH plays, my Dad is addicted. We started with Civ II many years ago.

4 has the best theme tune, though.

Spiritfarer is lovely
I just started playing Calico which is also really nice and cosy
I echo people saying Civ 5 too!
It's not on Steam but minecraft is also really chilled and fun

I've had Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic on my Wishlist for ages, it gets good reviews.
