What’s the best way to get started with D&D?

We want physical, not digital, but happy to use an app or whatever alongside. Would be me, DH and two young teens who are keen to try.
Is there a basic starter kit or something like that which we can add to?

There are the starter sets you can buy, which include a basic intro to the rules, and a storyline to play through. They usually include a set of dice and are good for a new DM to get their teeth into. The player handbook, monster manual and dungeon masters handbook are good once you know you want to play more, as they give more instruction and depth to running games, character creation etc. We have the Stranger Things starter set which was good, Lost Mines of Phandelver is one that a lot of people start with too.

Thanks. I’ve ordered the ‘Essentials Kit’ which looks like it’s enough to be starting with.
