I’ve just watched the trailer for the next AC game - looks like it’s a prequel to Valhalla and is set in Iraq / Iran / Syria (in 800AD so the countries might have been called something else then).

Aha! It’s called Assassins Creed Mirage.

This is a bit weird ... the websites say that it is coming out on 25 December. So it won't be possible to give (or receive it) as a Christmas present. Isn't this a bit short sighted?

It’s been 25/12 for a long time as I pre ordered it for my son before last Christmas and it was next Christmas Day even then .

It’s a really strange business decision. A £50 (ish) game is the sort of thing that goes under the Christmas tree. Perhaps it’ll have to be a Twelth Night present.

I am buying it for an adult so it being there on actual Christmas Day isn’t an issue .

I think someone will buy it for me

I just hope it will be smaller than Valhalla!

I like to complete most games 100% but no chance with Valhalla, it's just huge and can I be bothered to track down all the order (sone of which need me to win in dice games -which I am just not getting)

Other things need many raids which are boring! But I like most of the main story (pity side quests removed here to break things up more in terms of what quest to do next)

I may be done by Xmas.

I have completed Valhalla - but it took me a while.

Yes, I think Mirage will be a bit smaller. It’s meant to be more like the original game (and is in the same region).

One thing I love about Ubisoft /assassins creed is they send me emails when playing the game to tell me well sone I did xyz in the story and give me sone stats (and tell me about extra content to buy)

So easy to do based on my game data but not seen this before with any other game. I really like it (even if I do work in sane industry and know they just want me to buy add on content and it's free/easy for them to send me this customised email)

It was a placeholder release date. It's actually coming out on the 12th of October . It was just to let people know it would be out towards the end of this year and not sometime in 2024.

Aha! It’s now due to come out on 5 October - I’ve ordered it

Is it any good? I don't play but DH used to love AC but then hated the pirate one and didn't bother with the last one as he says the gameplay changed

Yes it is. It’s a lot more assassin-y than the other games. I absolutely love Valhalla but Vikings meeting with Saxon nobles aren’t really operating in the shadows.

I much prefer Odyssey and Valhalla.. this one just doesn't compare so far but I shall persevere and hope it gets better Blush

It’s smaller - I’ve just finished it. There’s almost no Animus crap which pleases me very much

Are there puzzles and side quests?

Valhalla had no side quests which was a shame. I did like most of the little puzzles though -flyting was ace and the massive jumping puzzles in the sky (though not standing stones)

No where near doing all 800 though!

No puzzles or side quests.

Annoying!

Maybe a post Xmas £10 purchase then.
I haven't paid more than that for the last 3.

That was a total bargain for Valhalla - it's absolutely massive.
