Does anyone know,

If I were to log in to my nintendo account on a different switch, could I create an entirely new town (and so ,have two towns)? Or is it a case of I would need to create another nintendo account and buy animal crossing again on that?

I thought it might be a case of only being able to access the one town on both switches.

What if you bought it on download? (I was thinking the same about a new island, new switch....?)

If you use the same account you can still trade between switches but via local play not online play

Ah yeah I've seen that option at the airport right enough.

Can believe I'm considering a second switch though haha. I can count it as an early Christmas present right? xD
