If I own Minecraft on Apple iPhone do I need to purchase it again to play on MacBook ?

It says £17 to download Java version for MacBook, but my DS has been playing on my phone and his iPad that is under my ID and I paid for that app. Do I need to rebuy for my MacBook laptop ?
