Is anyone else trying to get a ps5 this week? So far I've missed Argos because the usually dependable toddler didn't wake me up at 2am like she usually does (ok I did actually prefer the sleep 😉), couldn't even get on the right page at amazon, and spent 2 hours getting to the head of the queue for game only for the site to be down for my whole allotted half hour. I mean WTAF is that about? Why does the bloody queue not pause while the site is down? Anyway, Dh got on a minute later than me so he's still queuing and might have better luck.
I'm waiting now to fail at currys and then I can give up and get on with my life.
AIBU that there should be a better way to do this? I thought the whole point of the queue was so the site didn't get overwhelmed. The fact that that still happened and the queue moved independently of the checkout made it totally unfit for purpose 😡
aaaand breathe. Rant over. Yes I know there are more important things etc, I'm just venting after an annoying morning.

Well, in case anyone is in the same position I thought I'd update. Dh did manage to order one, even though he was quite a bit behind me in the queue. Quicker isn't always better and it's worth sticking with.

Been trying since release, it's a BLOODY nightmare. When they drop, they're gone in literally seconds. Managed to get one in my basket a couple of times only to have it disappear. I absolutely refuse to pay above the odds from arsehole scalpers!

I've been trying to get one for DH..also refuse to pay over the odds and I don't want to sit online waiting to be able to buy one. Just make more ffs. Or don't release something you can't fulfil Hmm part of me thinks it's fake stock issues to drum up hype bwcause it's actually not that good anyway.

I thought it was a combination of covid restrictions slowing down manufacturing and demand being higher than expected due to lots of people stuck at home and wanting to treat themselves.
All supposition though so who knows.
I hope it isn't a let down, Dh is thrilled about it.
